Honestly, I have both a chi flat iron and another similiar one. I actually like the other one better. Most electric styling tools are similiar, I think you need a better technique.....

Chi silk is great for combatting frizz, so is Joico Smoothing balm....as are the shine serums.....Try drying your hair about 3/4 dry before apply serums or silks, fininsh drying and finish off with the iron......

I am one who believes in using the proper products, but it doesn't always have to be expensive.....All irons have a heating element and plates that get hot....

awww noo! dont straighten your hair! learn how to deal with the curls, striaghteners ruin your hair!

but to answer your question the Chi is far superior to the maxiglide. the maxiglide will rip your hair out like crazy.

i have the CHI and it is like the BEST flat iron you can buy. i have very long thick natural curly hair and it straightens my hair so good and it makes my hair so smooth, and shiny. i love my CHI!!!

well i have to say that the CHI is really the best. but there are other ways to straighten your hair. dont get used to flat ironing it, it will damage your hair. i think you should just try to maintain your curly hair. i personally put some moose and gel in my hair then scrunch it with a towel. it looks nice. but all hair is different and everyone has their own style!! good luck finding yours!!
