You don't need to. I do sometimes with my chi. You could use a product that will protect your hair from heat damage though. Of course, its optional.

I believe they have their own heat protectant which is very important.

i usually don't.. i though that was the purpose of using the chi... instead of some cheap hair straighter

you don't have to but to keep your hair from getting fried you should use a straightening spray. chi makes a spray you can buy.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I'll be needing to purchase a hair straightener from the UK, as I won't be taking mine. I need advice on what straighteners are best, because I'm not familiar with any of the European Brands, and I don't see any American Brands for European use. :S

The best brand by far in the UK is GHD - they're not cheap but they're excellent and are used by most hairdressers. They're about 鎷?0 here so that would be around $145.

If it's something cheaper you're after, other decent brands include Toni and Guy, Vidal Sassoon and Babyliss. These products can all be bought on the UK high street and prices start at around 鎷?0.

GHD are absolutely great, they are what most of the salons here in the UK use, I have a pair of my own and they are the best.

You can get them in differing sizes to suit your hair style / type.

I found that searching the Internet for good deals was worthwhile as I managed to get the straighteners I wanted with a bag, styling products and hair clips for less than I could get them direct from GHD. (GDH = Good hair day).

GHD's are fanastic. They have been voted best by all magazines in the UK and come in 3 different sizes. They start from about 鎷?5 and are available from many websites and hairdressers. The HQHAIR website is where I got mine from and they were 鎷?0 I think...check it out for yourself. I strongly recommend them because every hairdresser I know has them and so do most of my friends !! Don't use drug store purchased haircolor. It's always going to be worse for you than salon grade. I've used both and like them both. Any coloring process that you use on your hair will damage your hair to an extent. I would use Wella personally. The have really nice pre coloring conditioners that help the color last and leave your hair feeling super healthy.

I love Nutrisse it has all natural stuff, doesn't smell bad, and never gives me that burning sensation on my scalp.

I wouldn't take the risk of buying the over-the-counter stuff

after a hair transplant. I only go to the Aveda saloons as they only use natural dye, after I was sick with cancer(about 70$)

once a month. But I know that good health food stores do often sell organic dye as well. good luck

Any good hairstyles for my hair?

well i recently got it cut. its a bit past my shoulders. and i have ALOT of layers.. too much actually. and i cant seem to know wha to do with it! when i straighten it, it looks to weird and than the front comes unstraightened im not sure why. I use the chi straightener. i think it might be from the layers. but what are other good hairstyles? and iv tried curling it but it doesnt look too good.! i also have no idea how to make my hair wavy i tried sleeping in braids.. turned out horrible

the best thing about layers and what makes them look so beautiful is just leaving it alone and letting it fall. =)

But if you want to spice things up with your hair, try wearing some accessories. For example, a headband.

Or you can try putting your hair in an updo.

well congrats on your new haircut, change is always good..

if you want to get your hair curly, after your shower, with wet hair bend a little over and apply mousse in the palm of your hands and starting from the ends apply the mousse and scrunch it towards the scalp.... till you get all you hair, then use a blow dryer wit a diffuser if you want and keep on scrunching it up, you don't have to dry it all the way, and if you don't have mousse, hair gel works great too....
