He started with licking his stomach, then his legs and paws till he was bald. Now he is licking furniture, the floor, and even gets on my shoulders and tries to lick MY hair! I'm wondering if he has dog "pica". he's coughing up hairballs in the middle of the night like a cat. choking and retching. Is he depressed? we have another Chi. female younger than him who competes for his "lap spot". I'm fit to be tied with licking thing. Anyone else have a problem like this? I'm also worried for his health with the hair eating.

he may have some sort of allergy related issue. he may have aggravation in his tongue for some reason. i would suggest seeing a vet to see if he has any allergies
