I have a Chi straightner too and hair just like yours. I love my Chi, it always makes my hair really sleek and shiny i wonder if your doing it right. Have you tried using the Chi thermal protecter? If not, you should apply it after you get out of the shower, then let your hair dry. And then straighten it. Are you trying to straighten large portions of your hair at the same time? If you do this, it just leaves your hair wavy. Take a small portion of you bangs and straighen it about 3 times for a few seconds every time . . . and it should work. Good Luck!

next time you go to a hair appointment to get your hair done (or trimmed) ask your stylist what flat iron/straightner they reccomend and ask them what heat and how to use it while you are there that way you will know how to use it and you will know it works well. good luck.

My advice is just grow your bangs out so it'll be just like the rest of your hair....wavey bangs just dont sound like a good idea...

Some hair is really hard to straighten and needs extra help. Try spraying it with hairspray before straightening. If this makes them TOO straight, spray right after they're straightened so they don't gradually get wavy again. Also, blow-dry them straight first, if you don't do that already. It doesn't really matter what straightener you have, as long as it's hot enough. (Straighteners work in the same very simple way that clothing irons do, and when people used coal-heated antique clothing irons they still had the same effect on cloth...) It's probably just because your hair is so thick that this is difficult!

sounds like my hair.
i use 'lusters pink lotion' for ethnic hair {even tho i don't have ethnic hair} and i straighten my hair every day. i put on the product when my hair is damp, then use a flat brush and blowdryer to blow it straight - but have to use a round brush as well to make it even straighter - the metal in the round brush works as an iron too. plus i always use a straightener as well.
the key to getting them straight is using the brushes in every direction w/ the blow dryer to get them straight.

i have really thick hair too.
1. get the thin chi straightener.
2. straighten it slowly, but not too slowly...you don't want to fry it.
3. thin out your hair. go to a salon and ask for thinner hair and layers.
besides, haircut people love thick hair.
at least mine do. they think it's gorgeous.

You could get your bangs thinned at the hair dresser's or you could try using an iron (like the ones used for clothing) and a dry towel. I find it works better than an actual flat iron. The other option is getting it chemically straightened. It takes more money, more time, and it does wreck your hair...those the best options I s'pose that could help you.
Good luck with the straightening!
