i have very fine but thick hair. since its fine, it gets damaged very easily. i usually straighten my hair everyday with the chi, but it completely FRYS my hair. It looks so horrible. Other flat irons arent to good either.
Ive heard stuff about getting ex-large rollers and putting them in your hair, and i was wondering, does it work? Not the heated ones. but if you put them in damp hair is it really not poofy or frizzy? And does it really make your hair look smooth and good?
I really want healthy hair. so i dont know what to do. please help :X
Rollers or flat iron?
If you use a good leave-in it's excellent! Pantene and Sunsilk are great leave-ins. Your damaging your hair flat ironing it everyday, and especially with the Chi. I have a Chi, and I know that's shameful! lol. I would use smaller rollers, though. It's tedious, but once you master it, it's so much healthier for the hair.
To do a rollerset:
Detangle wet hair with a wide tooth comb. Put leave-in in as you detangle. Get a samll section of hair, and then comb it with a small tooth comb. Hold the section of combed hair in the opposite direction of where you would like it to fall. For example, if you want your hair to fall in a bob on the right side of a part, hold it on the far left of the part. Take the roller and beginning rolling towards towards the right. Snapped the cover over it, if it has a cover. If it has neither a cover nor velcro, then secure with hair pins.
Warning: YOU SHOULD NOT USE A BRUSH AND BLOW DRYER!!! IT BREAKS OFF HAIR!!! I know from experience. It's better to use a comb.
Rollers or flat iron?
depends.
try this for straight hair:
as soon as you comb it out, section it off and use a paddle brush and a blow dryer to straighten it dry... you can do it without sectioning too though. then, you can put a few really big rollers on top, leave them in a few minutes, and it will add volume to your hair. plus, it won't look totally fried. i do this a lot...
hope that helps
Rollers or flat iron?
Blowdrying, on medium heat, would be best.
