I live in florida and my thin, fine blonde hair can't withstand the humidity.. at least with the flat irons i've tried.
im very hesitant to buy another flat iron, because none of them seem to work for my hair.
i tried a chi for years but it snagged and fried my hair (yes i used heat protectment) the damage is finally gone after a few years.
i have been using the jilbere de paris for years now and that works when its cold, but my thin, fine hair can't resist the florida humidity. by the time i get to school it has waves.
i have heard a lot of good things about the sedu ( you can straighten, curl, wave) but im not positive it would withstand the humidity.
so i need advice... what's the best flat iron for thin, fine hair that:
1) wont snag
2) wont fry hair (when using heat protecter)
3) withstands florida humidity (especially during the summer)
if you have had experience (especially with the humidity part) i would love to hear from you!!
thanks!
What flat iron is the best to withstand humidity?
Sedu works great for my THICK, FRIZZY hair. it is the only iron that let my hair stay straight for days even in high humidity (new york city).

You should use this one called FHI heat it uses a special moisture control thing and is high quality ceramic. Available at hair salons for about $120. My sister uses it and loves it.

No flat iron does it. You should get an Anti-Humidity hairspray. It works regardless of the flat iron.

First of all, the type of iron and the Florida humidity have very little to do with keeping your style fresh.
You need to see a stylist and discuss the style you are trying to achieve.
This may involve a trim, a cut, a body wave and/or product She/he will help you find the correct daily or weekly regimen.
My 1st guess is, that the shampoo %26amp; conditioner you are using are too heavy for your hair.
2nd, you are not using a styling product which will block humidity.
3rd, the styling product you are using is too heavy for your hair or you are using too much, which creates weight and will cause your style to "flop".
4th, your finishing spray may, also, be too heavy. Less expensive sprays tend to be heavier and don't have a fine mist.
5th, your location should be taken into consideration; closer to salt water or more inland, city or rural, will determine the products and the amount of product that should be used.
6th, you type of employment is, also, a factor. Food services, secrtary, meter maid, day or evening, etc., should be discussed with your stylist, so that she/he will have a better idea of what you need in order to maintain your style at work.
7th, you need some pointers on using the flat iron, on your type of hair. The stylists has a proffessional knowledge of these implements, as they use them on a daily basis.
Fine hair requires a little more work than other types of hair, but a nice style can be achieved with a little knowledge, the right products, practice and patience.
It is very difficult to give proffessional advice, without seeing your hair texture, style and condition.
Hairdressers use their sense of touch, as much as they use their sense of vision, to determine the best plan of action to achieve the best possible results for your hair. Your hair may look good when you enter the salon, but as soon as you sit in the styling chair, the stylist will touch it, before doing anything else.
It's our way of "reading" your hair.
And, please don't think that all hairdressers recommend a salon product in order to make a "sale".
I have no problem recommending products sold in Wal-Mart, or other retail stores, to my clients, because I know that they can not afford the salon products.
I have been a licensed hairdresser in the beautiful State of Florida for 42 years.

Get the Conditioning Ionic-Ceramic Digital Flat Iron by Ion. It conditions your hair, makes it shiny, and straight for a long time. Also, after you use a flat iron, use a hair spray for anti-humidity by Matrix smooth system.
What flat iron is the best to withstand humidity?
1) Get a ceramic iron (Sedu, Solia, Paul Mitchell etc)
2) Use heat protection spray
3) Try straightening your hair with different temperature settings. you will find out an acceptable temperature that make your hair stay straight longer while not damaging your hair.
