Is a chi iron safe for your hair?

i have a chi iron (the one with no heat settings), i use it maybe 2-3 times a month. is it bad or good for my chemically relaxed hair. is there a better safer ceramic iron besides the chi?

the chi is one of the hottest flat irons made and is extremely bad for your hair.

if you only use it a few times a month it should be okay, but you might want to get an iron that isnt so hot.

i use a conair gold n hot and it works really good.

chi irons are about the best ones out there. although I have an FHI iron %26amp; it works very well as long as u r using a spray in heat protectant with the flat iron, you should be fine.

Chis are amazing! I have wavy hair and after using my friend's chi i had perfectly straight hair! And it only took about 10 minutes. It also didn't seem like it was damaging my hair as much as my cheap-o one at home does. I'm gonna buy one! haha. I would just say stick with Chi.

The best iron is the Paul Mitchell Smoothing Iron because you can actually adjust the heat setting from 160 to 400 degrees. The lower you set the heat the less damaging...but I also use it on 400 degrees everyday and it never damages my hair because it actually smooths down the cuticle and makes it look healthier and shinier. Its also ok for chemically treated hair whether it be permed, relaxed or colored.

chi is a very good iron...you just have to make sure your hair is complately dry before you use it...I have that iron and I use it on alot of clients...some with a chemical relaxer...some without...and it does the job...what kind of products are you using?? use a silicone based product (not gel..as they are water based) before you use your iron...and you shoulddnt have any problems...you only use it a few times a month anyway

I absolutely love the chi iron, I recommend it to every one that says they need a new flat iron. I have really curly, fine hair that is really hard to straighten, and I use the Chi once a wk and it's perfect. My hair is healthier than it has ever been, and I have color. The chi gives my hair lots of body and shine and it gets the job done alot faster than any other flat iron i've used. It's worth every penny
