I am thinking about buying a CHI straightening iron and i was wondering if the 1" works better than the 2". my hair is really thick and kinda long so i thought the 2" might work better for my hair but i was just wondering if the 1" would straighten better.

One inch is the standard in the beauty industry and much easier to work with. You also can't get the small curls with the 2" and make those long pretty spiral curls. The main problem with the 2" is it gives you the false impression that you can flat-iron more hair at one time than you can with the 1" and if you do that you don't end up with the best results. The best results are always obtained when about 1" of hair is sectioned off and straighted at one time.

I also have thick hair but i think the 1 inch ones are easier to handle. u can also curl with 1 inch ones too.

I have a chi and love it! You should buy the 2" it will work better for thick hair, this is what i use and i have reallyyy thick hair.

I think the 1 inch is easier to work with. Part your hair into smaller sections. This will also help with the result!

The inches added to the straightening iron are usually more about length of hair than thickness. If your hair is below your shoulders I would get the two inch, above your shoulders I would get the one inch. They are both excellent straightening irons but I've used a infiniti by Conair and it works just as well for a third of the price.

I have the two inch and i have SUPER thick hair. It takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to straighten my hair. It works best on completley dry hair that is in small sections.
